In Disbelief

In disbelief I took apart my self,
laid out the flesh across the window sill;
I plunged my life to quench my thirst for death.

And as if silence broken stops a breath,
I split my voice between its words like hills.
In disbelief I took apart my self.

Dividing thoughts in rows along a shelf,
I ordered chaos to hold the endless still.
I plunged my life to quench my thirst for death.

Shredding todays into daydreams, I never felt,
the fissures where the distance of me filled
a disbelief that took apart my self,

bestowed my bones to plots of weightless wealth
stepping slowly over an illusion till
I plunged my life to quench my thirst for death.

An inversion of the truth, a mind made ill;
neither—nothing but the test of will.
In disbelief I took apart my self
I plunged my life to quench my thirst for death.
