From Waters, Muddy and Clear
It resembles you
this void hollowed out
by remorse and mad love.
So well hidden I toiled to find it,
assailed as I am by despair
and stripped as I am of my will.

you and that fleeting burst of azure
ephemeral though it was

above these rooftops, pulsating,
alive and sonorous
alive with swallows
