Faisal Mohyuddin was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs and now lives in Evanston, Illinois. He earned his undergraduate degree in English from Carleton College and a masters in education from Northwestern University. Currently, he is completing an M.F.A. in fiction writing at Columbia College Chicago. Faisal's writing has been featured on Chicago Public Radio and has appeared in several publications, including Poet Lore, Atlanta Review, Free Lunch, Hair Trigger, English Journal,Main Street Rag, and Indivisible: An Anthology of Contemporary South Asian American Poetry (University of Arkansas Press, 2010). Faisal has been teaching English at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois, since 2003.
